November began with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth returning ar琀椀facts to Vietnam provided by
Mission: POW-MIA through our Opera琀椀on: H.E.A.R.T. program. USMC Corporal Johnny Johnson
captured the items in May of 1968 south of Da Nang. He was wounded in ac琀椀on three days later.
On November 7, 2025, Mission: POW-MIA family members
were on hand at the Norfolk Interna琀椀onal Airport along with
the Virginia Patriot Guard, Knights of Columbus, local law enforcement and military to welcome home US Navy Captain Thomas
Scheurich. Captain Scheurich had been MIA since March 1, 1968
when his A6 Intruder was lost in Vietnam. He was recovered by
DPAA in December of 2024 and iden琀椀昀椀ed in April. Mission: POWMIA leadership also a琀琀ended his funeral at Arlington Na琀椀onal
Cemetery on November 14, 2025.
